I received my Masters degree from Regis University in Marriage and Family Therapy. I also obtained a certificate in counseling children and adolescents from Regis University. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison in Human Development and Family Studies. With this background I use an attachment lens to view client problems. Our early formation of attachment bonds have a lasting effect on how we view the world and people around us.
I am a therapist who uses collaboration and connection with my clients to enhance our therapeutic bond. I utilize Collaborative therapy along with Solution-Focused therapy and Dialectical Behavioral therapy. These models allow me to collaborate with my client to direct therapy in a way that suits each client’s goals. My approach is client-centered, meaning the work we do together is centered and geared towards each client based on their goals. Therapy isn’t, and shouldn’t be, one size fits all. Each person, couple, or family has different needs. I hope to be able to assist clients in addressing and achieving their goals. I have worked with a variety of clients including children, adolescents, co-parents, and couples. I have training in using DBT for addictions treatment as well as training in trauma-focused CBT.
